This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs your use of the services provided by Giraffe Hosting Limited ("Giraffe Hosting Limited" or "we"), hereafter referred to as the "Hosting Services." Your use of the Hosting Services signifies your acceptance of and agreement to comply with all the policies outlined in this Acceptable Use Policy, in addition to our terms and conditions. Giraffe Hosting Limited reserves the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time without prior notice.
You are prohibited from allowing any third party to access or use the Hosting Services unless you have purchased one of our reseller hosting packages. In the case of reseller hosting, you may permit a third party ("Third Party") to access and use the Hosting Services. In such instances, you are responsible for monitoring the Third Party's usage of the Hosting Services and ensuring their compliance with this acceptable use policy. Any breach of this policy by a Third Party will be considered a breach by you.
The Hosting Services are provided by Giraffe Hosting Limited ("we," "us," or "our"). We are a registered company in England and Wales under company number 11957978, with our registered office located at 85 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 7LT.
The Shared Hosting Services include the provision of web space on our servers to facilitate the upload of pages and files to publish websites.
In your use of the Shared Hosting Services (except when using your virtual private server), you must not: a. Exceed 10% of our platform's processing capacity, including activities such as CGI scripts and intensive FTP, PHP, or HTTP operations. b. Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes or daemons, including IRCd. c. Run web spiders or indexers. d. Operate software that interfaces with an Internet Relay Chat network. e. Use bit torrent applications, trackers, or clients on our servers (you may link to legal torrent files off-site but not host or store them on our servers). f. Engage in file-sharing or peer-to-peer activities. g. Run gaming servers. h. Run entries or scheduled tasks, except through our control panel configuration. i. Offer web space under a domain, including Resellers giving away free websites. j. Operate a proxy website or service. k. Serve as a remote file host for other websites. l. Provide self-hosted file synchronization or similar "cloud storage" services, including but not limited to OwnCloud, Pydio, and Sparkleshare.
The Hosting Services are not intended for use as an offsite backup facility. All files uploaded to our servers as part of your Hosting Services usage must be visible and accessible to the outside world unless they are required for the operation of the associated website. We reserve the right to delete files or directories that are not web-visible without prior notice.
All website pages stored on our servers as part of the Hosting Services will be available to search engines, unless you take measures to prevent this. To optimize your web pages for search engines, you must comply fully with the guidelines issued by Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other major search engines.
MySQL Databases are limited to a size of 1024 megabytes. We will notify you when your databases approach this limit.
If you are a Reseller and deactivate a resold web hosting account, we will automatically delete it after 50 days.
You may only use the Hosting Services for lawful purposes. Prohibited uses include but are not limited to:
a. Using the Hosting Services in a manner that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
b. Engaging in unlawful or fraudulent activities, or using the services for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
c. Using the services to harm or attempt to harm minors in any way.
d. Sending, receiving, uploading, downloading, using, or re-using material that does not comply with our content standards (see below).
e. Transmitting or soliciting unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional material, or similar solicitations (spam - see below).
f. Knowingly transmitting data, sending or uploading material containing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware, or any other harmful programs or computer code designed to adversely affect software or hardware.
These content standards apply to all material hosted through the Hosting Services, as well as any associated interactive services.
Material must: a. Be accurate when stating facts. b. Reflect genuinely held opinions. c. Comply with applicable UK and international laws.
Material must not: a. Defame any person. b. Contain obscenities, offensive, hateful, or inflammatory material. c. Display pornography. d. Promote violence. e. Promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age. f. Infringe upon any copyright, database right, or trademark of any other person. g. Deceptively impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation. h. Advocate, promote, or assist in any unlawful activities.
We maintain a zero-tolerance stance against the sending of unsolicited email, bulk emailing, and spam. We reserve the right to terminate the account of any user found sending spam, with or without prior notice.
Websites advertised as spam are prohibited from being hosted on our servers. This prohibition includes spam sent via fax, phone, postal mail, email, instant messaging, or newsgroups. Any user account resulting in our IP space being blacklisted will be immediately suspended and/or terminated.
Giraffe Hosting Limited reserves the right to charge the account holder for any clean-up fees or charges incurred for blacklist removal at our sole discretion.
a. Reselling or offering any part of our Hosting Services to third parties is prohibited unless a specific Reseller product has been purchased. b. Unauthorized access, interference with, damage, or disruption of any part of the Hosting Services, equipment, networks, or software, whether owned or used by us or third parties, is strictly prohibited.
c. If you deactivate a resold Hosting Service for 50 consecutive days, we will automatically delete this Hosting Service. d. You are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of your Reseller Service, including the deletion of unnecessary files and Hosting Services.
Giraffe Hosting Limited will determine, at its discretion, whether there has been a breach of this acceptable use policy through your use of the Hosting Services. In case of a breach, we may take appropriate actions, including but not limited to: a. Immediate, temporary, or permanent withdrawal of your right to use the Hosting Services. b. Immediate, temporary, or permanent removal of any Material uploaded to our servers. c. Issuance of a warning. d. Initiation of legal proceedings for reimbursement of all associated costs. e. Further legal action. f. Disclosure of information to law enforcement authorities.
Giraffe Hosting Limited may revise this acceptable use policy at any time by updating this page. It is your responsibility to periodically review this page, as any changes made are legally binding on you.
